Miss Grand International 2023 Official Delegates confirmed to participate in Vietnam on 25 October 2023

 

Miss Grand International 2023 will be the 11th edition of the Miss Grand International pageant, to be held on October 25, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This will be the second time Vietnam to host the contest; the first was in 2017 at the Vinpearl Convention Center on Phú Quốc island. The winner of Miss Grand International 2022, Isabella Menin of Brazil will crown her successor at the end of the event.

On 25 June 2022, the organizer of the Miss Grand International pageant, MGI PLC, announced on their official social media that the 11th edition of the contest was scheduled to be held in Vietnam on 20 October 2023, however, the final venue of the event has not been revealed yet. The MOU signing ceremony between the MGI PLC and the local organizer Sen Vàng Entertainment for the agreement to organize the contest later took place during the press conference of the inaugural edition of the Miss Grand Vietnam contest at Sofitel Saigon Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City on 7 June 2022, and the international press release was later conducted at Saigon South Marina Club on 5 July. As per the press conference additionally held on February 5, 2023, the Miss Grand International 2023 pageant will consist of six main sub-events, including the Best in Swimsuit contest, Vietnamese costume parade, closed-door interview, national costume contest, preliminary competition, and the grand final coronation night. However, the exact date of each event has not been revealed yet. Here are the official delegates in alphabetical order.

Miss Grand Australia Mikaela-Rose Fowler

She is a 28 years old disability support worker. She is passionate about reducing the stigma around disability. As a neurodivergent woman herself, she understands that this world wasn’t built for everyone, which is why she wants to use her title to inspire the world to show kindness to all and to always approach others with an open mind. She reminds us to remember we should not make assumptions about others and must look for ways we can help others in order to improve their lives.

Miss Grand Belgium Albertina Rodrigues

Age: 23 Height: 170cm (5 feet 7 inches) Hometown: Luanda

She is 23 years old and of Angolan origin, living in Belgium. Albertina is a dreamy young woman, simple, persistent, and above all friendly. She is working as a model and is delighted with so much wonderful discoveries in the field of fashion. She also likes to sing and dance. She is studying to complete a Master's degree in International Relations. Today she is rising from the ashes, building her Castle with all the stones She found along the way.

Miss Grand Bolivia Victoria Olguín

Age: 23 Height: 178cm (5 feet 10 inches) Hometown: Cochabamba

Victoria attended and graduated from the Bolivian Catholic University with a degree in Business Administration. She was the regional winner of Miss Cochabamba 2023 and represented her hometown in Miss Bolivia 2023 national pageant where she was awarded Miss Grand Bolivia 2023 title.

Miss Grand Brazil Adriana Yanca

Age: 26 Height: 175cm (5 feet 9 inches) Hometown: Belford Roxo

She is a dental surgeon, nursing technician, and medical student. She had previously placed Top 25 semi-finalist at Miss World Brazil 2021 and Miss Supranational Brasil 2022 Top 6 Finalist. As a dentist, she wants to help underprivileged people through dental hygiene. Adrianna hopes to bring the first back-to-back victory for her country Brazil at Miss Grand International 2023 as the successor of Isabella Menin Miss Grand International 2022.

Miss Grand Canada Yuliya Shcherban

Age: 22 Height: 178cm (5 feet 10 inches) Hometown: Lloydminster

She is studying Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Toronto (Rotman Commerce program). Yuliya is a Ukrainian Canadian who is proud to call Canada her home for the past 15 years. Dedicated to her studies, Yuliya excelled as a student, graduating high school at the top of her class, receiving the Governor General’s Academic Medal, and attaining an SAT score in the top 1% of students worldwide. Currently, in her final year of undergraduate studies, she is completing a Finance and Economics specialist at Rotman Commerce at the University of Toronto, where she is a U of T Scholar and has made it to the Dean’s List. Furthermore, she completed an exchange program at one of the world’s leading universities for business and management, Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. In 2017, Yuliya and four of her friends founded the Beba Project, a charitable initiative helping mothers with infants in need in her local community. By operating coffee shops across schools in her hometown, Yuliya and the Beba Project raised over $4,000 for diapers and baby supplies for infants in the local community within the first year alone, and the Beba Project continues in Yuliya’s high school to this day. As much as she is proud to be a Canadian, Yuliya also honors her cultural roots as a Ukrainian. She won the title of Miss Ukrainian Canada 2018 in a competition celebrating Ukrainian culture, arts, talent, and beauty. She also delivered a speech at a Pecha Kucha event, narrating her challenges of growing up as an immigrant and her journey toward embracing her ethnic background. As a result of her dedication to her heritage, Yuliya has appeared as the cover model for the Chicago-based Ukrainian People magazine in 2018, her first magazine cover feature. As a professional model, she has also walked at fashion shows and has most recently been published in the Winter 2022 edition of Chaarmz magazine.

Miss Grand Chile Paula Henríquez

Age: 27 Height: 178cm (5 feet 10 inches) Hometown: Las Condes

Paula is 27 years old, standing at the height of 178 cm tall international model from Santiago de Chile. She was Reina Hispanoamericana Chile 2021, Miss Ultra Universe 2020-2021 and Miss Universo Santiago 2019 and Miss Universo Tarapacá 2014. Paula lived in Brazil, the United States, Argentina, France, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates for working as a model. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English. As a representative of Las Condes, she made history for 2 consecutive years winning for Las Condes.

Miss Grand Colombia María Alejandra López

Age: 28 Height: 176cm (5 feet 9.5 inches) Hometown: Pereira

María is an industrial engineer by profession who graduated from the Sergio Arboleda University in Bogotá. She speaks Spanish, English, and French. She has an impressive experience as she represented Colombia at Miss World 2015 and she placed 1st Runner Up at Miss Universe Colombia 2021. Her outstanding stage presence has helped her gain tons of pageant fans from around the world. I think she has high chance to make it far in this competition as she fits the look and performance suitable for Miss Grand International.

Miss Grand Costa Rica Kristell Freeman

Age: 26 Height: 174cm (5 feet 8.5 inches) Hometown: Limón

Kristell is 26 years of age and a journalist, and audiovisual producer by profession. She is bilingual and hails originally from the province of Limón. The organization made the official announcement as follows, “Here is your queen, Costa Rica! Kristell Ruiz Freeman has been designated by the National Beauty Contest, as Miss Grand Costa Rica 2023. Now, she will have the responsibility of representing 5 million Costa Ricans in Miss Grand International 2023, in Vietnam.”

Miss Grand Czech Republic Sophia Osako

Age: 19 Height: 180cm (5 feet 11 inches) Hometown: Prague

She is 19 years old Czech Japanese beauty currently a Political Sciences student at Anglo-American University. Standing at the towering height of 180cm 5 feet 11 inches tall, Sophia would like to dedicate herself to a charity that focuses on helping children in the Czech Republic in the field of education and training and gradually expand this organization to other countries. She has been helping an NGO located in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand which works for people and children regarding HIV and Aids awareness.

Miss Grand Dominican Republic Skarxi Marte

Age: 21 Height: 183cm (6 feet) Hometown: Santo Domingo

She is a 21-year-old, 183 cm tall biology student and model who was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic but lives in the United States. She was 1st runner-up of Latinoamericana Universal USA 2022. She represented Santiago at Miss Grand Dominican Republic 2023 where she won.

Miss Grand Ecuador 2023 Véronique Michielsen

Miss Grand Ecuador 2023 Véronique Michielsen is a half-Ecuadorian-Belgian model based in Antwerp, Belgium. She is 22 years old, stands at the towering height of 180 cm 5 feet 11 inches tall, and communicates in 3 languages, including English, Spanish, and Dutch. She had previously competed at the Miss Grand Belgium 2021 contest and finished in the Top 5 finalist. Fátima Alejandra Calderón Quezada, representing La Libertad. She is 24 years old and graduated from the University of El Salvador, majoring in International Affairs specializing in International Politics. She works as a mission assistant for the Global Smile Foundation, along with being a model, influencer, and TV host. Currently, she also collaborates with the most important and recognized brands in the region. Miss Grand Ghana Kitava Yvettlana Amankwaa

Age: 28 Height: 170cm (5 feet 7 inches) Hometown: Sisaket

She is half Thai-Cambodian and Ghanaian. Kitava was born in Bangkok(Thailand)and grew up in Sisaket Province, She was raised in a Khmer-Thai family. (By the Thai-Cambodian border) Growing up Kitava always wanted to be a role model and leader, she found her voice through pageantry. Kitava did not have the luxury of attaining a proper education due to being raised by a single parent. She made it her aim to push hard to educate herself and by doing this she started to advocate for equality in education for all and pushed people to follow their dreams. She is now a Fashion Designer, Beauty Queen, and Model. Through pageantry, KItava started to realize that no matter your background, race, or status, we can all be whoever we want to be. Kitava is the true definition of never giving up, she fell in love with the Miss Grand International Pageant and their advocacy. She dreamt of one day being on the international stage so she began her Grand journey. She competed for Miss Grand Chachoengsao and won the best speech award, but was unable to take home the ultimate crown. This didn’t stop her, she decided to try again and competed for Miss Grand Suphanburi, again winning the best speech award but unable to take home the crown. She wasn’t ready to give up so she pushed herself to try again competing for Miss Grand Krabi and Finally walking away with the Ultimate crown. Kitava believes that when you have a dream you need to constantly work towards it so it can blossom.

Miss Grand Gibraltar Jaylynn Cruz

Age: 26 Height: 174cm (5 feet 8.5 inches) Hometown: Gibraltar

Jaylynn Cruz, 26 years of age, is currently preparing to represent Gibraltar at Miss Grand International 2023. Cruz works as a teacher specializing in special educational needs and disabilities. Miss Gibraltar 2022 was the first ever pageant she competed in where she placed as the 1st Princess. “My younger self has always looked up to the Miss Gibraltar contestants and I wanted to be a part of it”, she spoke in an interview. Being a special needs teacher, Cruz is a big advocate for inclusivity. She is using her platform to help communicate and promote this. Recently, Jaylynn has also hosted some coffee mornings at school to raise funds for different charities.

Miss Grand Guatemala Raschel Paz

Age: 22 Height: 180cm (5 feet 11 inches) Hometown: Guatemala City

Miss Grand Guatemala organization took to their official social media as they announced Guatemala’s representative to Miss Grand International 2023. Raschel Alexandra Paz is the officially appointed Miss Grand Guatemala 2023 who succeeds Miss Grand Guatemala 2022, Andrea Radford. Raschel Alexandra Paz is 22 years of age and stands 180 cm tall. Paz holds a degree in Political Studies and International Relations and stands out as a Professional Model in the world of fashion. Fluent in Spanish, English, French, and German, Paz is a strong orator. Aside from her education and professional work, Paz is passionate about catwalks, basketball, swimming, karate, jiu-jitsu, and horseback riding. As part of her social work, the Guatemalan beauty queen is part of an NGO legally established in Guatemala where she serves as a Human Rights Ambassador providing support to young people and women survivors of physical and psychological violence, through the Unit for Attention to Victims.

Miss Grand Honduras Britthany Marroquin

Age: 20 Height: 168cm (5 feet 6 inches) Hometown: Copán

Miss Grand Honduras 2022 was the inaugural edition of the Miss Grand Honduras beauty pageant, held at La Galería in Tegucigalpa on July 10, 2022. Eighteen candidates representing 18 departments of Honduras competed for the national title, of whom Saira Cacho Álvarez of the Colón Department was named the winner. She then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2022 pageant held on October 25 in Indonesia, where she was placed among the top 20 finalists, making her the first Honduran representative to obtain the position at Miss Grand International. In addition to crowning the 2022 representative, Honduran candidates for the Miss Grand International 2023 and Reina Internacional del Cacao 2022 pageants, Britthany Marroquin of Copán and Maryann Espinoza of Atlántida, were respectively determined in the same event.

Miss Grand Hong Kong Ada Lo Tan Tan

She is 28 years old Zither teacher and graphic designer from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She participated in three beauty pageants before, including Miss Asia Awards 2018 and Miss International Taiwan. She was the winner of Miss Taiwan. She also got the best talent award, the most popular media award, and the best popularity award.

Miss Grand India Kashish Methwani

Age: 21 Height: 170cm (5 feet 7 inches) Hometown: Pune

Kashish is 21 years of age and the founder of Team Critical Cause. She believes that education took a backseat during the covid-19 pandemic. “The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected children’s chances of education as well. The nationwide lockdown has proved to be an additional financial strain on many families. In conditions wherein several are struggling to provide basic amenities such as food and clothing, education takes a back seat.” Kashish wishes to use her reign to promote education.

Miss Grand Indonesia Ritassya Wellgreat

She is a 22-year-old model, stands at 175cm 5 feet 9 inches tall, and Summa Cum Laude Alumna of Sriwijaya University. She will represent Indonesia at Miss Grand International 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam this 25 October 2023.

Miss Grand Italy Andrea Zanettin

She is 24 years old Italian Venezuelan. Her broad experience in pageants and modeling in Venezuela include Reina de las Ferias y Fiestas de San José de Paraguachi, Miss Teen Nueva Esparta, Miss Turismo Nueva Esparta, Reinas de Margarita, and Miss Grand International Italy, among others.

Miss Grand Myanmar Ni Ni Lin Eain

Ni Ni Lin Eain was crowned Miss Grand Myanmar 2023 at an event held on 23rd November 2022 as she became the official representative of Myanmar at Miss Grand International 2023. She is the successor and was crowned by Miss Grand Myanmar 2022 Ei Ei Aung Htunt. Ni Ni Lin Eain was handpicked as no national competition for selecting the 2023 edition’s representative was held. Ni Ni currently lives in Woodlands, Singapore. She speaks fluent English and her dedication makes her a strong contender for the Miss Grand International crown. The stunning Myanmar beauty is 23 years of age and stands 5 feet 7 inches tall. She works as a freelance model in her country. Miss Grand Netherlands Melissa Bottema

Melissa is 23 years of age and stands 176 cm tall. She is a model and gymnastics coach who was born in Zandeweer and grew up in Winsum, Groningen. For Bottema, one must be patient and persistent even if one meets difficulties and setbacks. She graduated in Social Work from Hanzehogeschool Groningen. Her speaking languages are Dutch and English and her hobbies are gymnastics, singing, and windsurfing. Not new to the pageantry, Bottema represented the Netherlands as Miss Intercontinental Netherland 2022 at Miss Intercontinental 2022 where she placed in the Top 20.

Miss Grand Nicaragua Glennys Medina

Glennys Medina is a graduate of Diplomacy and International Relations. As for her humanitarian causes, she gives talks in schools about cyberbullying, self-esteem, love and respect, and empowerment talks to women in her community in Guanacaste, as well as in Nicaragua. She has worked with various non-profit organizations and created a soccer team for the youth of La Chureca a few years ago. She is a pageant veteran who has joined Miss World Nicaragua 2014, Café Costa Rica 2018, and Miss Eco International 2018.

Miss Grand Panama Julia Leong

This beautiful Panamanian is a 26-year-old businesswoman, tourism ambassador, and master's student from La Chorrera, Panama West province. She is bilingual, with a degree in finance and international business. She is currently studying project management. She also actively participates as a volunteer in the national association against cancer, and the Panama Joven Foundation and cares for the environment, since she loves to serve and be available to the community.

Miss Grand Paraguay Maelia Salcines

Age: 28 Height: 166cm (5 feet 5.5 inches) Hometown: Fernando De La Mora

Maelia is a 28-year-old beauty queen who works as a professional author and model standing at the height of 166cm 5 feet 5.5 inches tall hailing from the United States of America. She is not a stranger to pageantry, she had previously joined the Miss Texas USA state pageant where she placed third runner-up and won Miss Congeniality. She also competed in Reinas del Paraguay 2022 (Miss Universe Paraguay) where she bagged Mejor Piel (Best Skin) and Reina del Publico (Queen of the Public) awards. The candidates chosen through either the regional pageants or national preliminary casting will compete for the title. Miss Grand Paraguay 2022, Agatha Leon of Ciudad del Este, and gain the right to represent the country at Miss Grand International 2023, to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 25 October 2023.

Miss Grand Peru Luciana Fuster

Age: 24 Height: 173cm (5 feet 8 inches) Hometown: Callao

She is a Peruvian model, radio host, and television personality. She is one of the most popular delegates in this year’s pageant with more than four million followers. At the age of 17, she was crowned Miss Teen Pageant International in Brazil. Luciana has a successful acting career being featured in TV shows in Peru. Her experience working in the media field will help her during the question-and-answer round at Miss Grand International. Her drive and dedication to the golden crown will help her place in the Top 5 at Miss Grand International 2023.

Miss Grand Philippines Nikki de Moura

Age: 19 Height: 173cm (5 feet 8 inches) Hometown: Cagayan de Oro

Nikki de Moura is 19 years old model and beauty queen from Cagayan de Oro. She was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to a Brazilian father and a Filipina mother. She started modeling at a young age and she was the winner of Miss Teen Philippines 2019. Recently she was 1st Runner Up at Netflix show Super Model Me Season 6 at just 17 years old. After losing her father at a young age, she wants to help her family be finically stable, and through the Miss Grand International stage, Nikki wants to spread the message of peace and spreading kindness. Even though she is one of the youngest delegates in this year’s Miss Grand International. The Philippines is aiming to win their first golden crown as she fits the Miss Grand look which is glamorous yet relatable and charming. It will also help build the bridge between Filipino fans and Miss Grand International.

Gugulethu Mayisela, an 18-year-old chartered accounting student, was crowned the new Miss Grand South Africa 2023. The grand finale, hosted at the prestigious Atterbury Theatre, showcased the finest display of beauty, intelligence, and charisma, as Gugu bested 23 other outstanding contestants to claim the coveted title. Gugulethu sees herself as one of the new generations of South African women who will “take up space” as an educated, vibrant, and positive female. She was born and bred in Johannesburg however, she currently resides in the Mother City, Cape Town. Confident, ambitious, and driven are three words that best describe Gugu. She has a passion for humanity as well as its well-being and thus hopes to use the Miss Grand platform to be the voice of the most vulnerable in our society while using education as the driving force. Miss Grand South Sudan Amylia Deng

Amylia Deng is 24 years old, 181 cm tall, and is the latest crowned queen of Miss Grand South Sudan. Amylia, as a diplomat, is always motivated by her passion for diplomacy, philanthropy, and the power of education. She witnessed the impacts that diplomacy can have on global issues, fueling her desire to bring positive change to her homeland, South Sudan. Apart from being a diplomat, Amylia is also a philanthropist and an author. Her book, "Even After the Darkest Moments," serves as an inspiring testament to her resilience and determination, aiming to empower others to find hope in any challenges. She also dedicated her time to education. With her own organization, she has successfully enrolled 200 underprivileged children back into school. Aiming to transform the lives of orphans and homeless children around the area. In the Miss Grand International pageant, Amylia Deng wishes to raise awareness towards changes. The changes that she wishes the light to shine on are about the critical need for education and support of orphans and street children. Celia is a 173 cm tall, 22 years old Spanish model. She is finishing a double degree in Law and International relations while pursuing her dream of becoming the next Miss Grand International. She has a very interesting background due to the fact that she lived in Poland and studied in an American school for a large part of her childhood, which allowed her to be fluent in English, French, Polish, and of course Spanish. Celia describes herself as someone who is constantly learning, in fact, she admits that one of her favorite hobbies is learning new things. She plays the piano, sings in a youth choir, and has tried all types of sports throughout the years. Although she acknowledges that the ones she is more passionate about are dancing and basketball. Having suffered the disease firsthand within her family, Celia is a faithful defender that science and research are the only ways to advance against diseases that take away our loved ones on a daily basis. For this reason, she is a member of the Spanish association fighting cancer and multiple sclerosis. She works firsthand with associations to ameliorate their negative impact on the community. She is determined to work tirelessly to bring the first-ever golden crown to Spain and share with her country the joy of this GRAND EXPERIENCE!!

Miss Grand Thailand Aoom Thaweeporn Phingchamrat

Age: 27 Height: 171cm (5 feet 7.5 inches) Hometown: Chumphon

Aoom is 27-year-old beauty hailing from Chumphon Province in Southern Thailand. She stands at the height of 171cm 5 feet 7.5 inches tall and her body proportions are 32-24-36. She graduated bachelor's degree in Business Management, majoring in Human Resources Management and she currently works as an advertising model and influencer. Previously, she had placed as the third runner-up at Miss Grand Thailand 2017 contest and represented Thailand at Miss United Continents 2017 international pageant where she again placed as 3rd Runner-Up and won the Best National Costume special awards wearing the iconic durian fruit dress. In 2020, she participated in the Miss Universe Thailand contest where she placed among the Top 10 finalists. Due to her impressive pageant experience, confident aura, and outstanding stage presence, she is one of the front runners for the Miss Grand Thailand crown and ended up winning the main title of Miss Grand Thailand 2023 alongside winning many special awards including Miss Angelic Face, Shining Gril, and Miss Citra titles.

Miss Grand United Kingdom Chloe Ellman-Baker

Age: 23 Height: 172cm (5 feet 7.5 inches) Hometown: Sussex

The 23-year-old beauty from Sussex is a marketing manager and promotional model who holds a degree in interior architecture and design from the University of Portsmouth. She will represent the United Kingdom at Miss Grand International 2023 in Vietnam this October.

Miss Grand US Virgin Islands 2023 Heather Marie Thompson

Age: 26 Height: 171cm (5 feet 7.5 inches) Hometown: New York

Heather is a 26-year-old model, actress, and pageant queen with a passion for Mental Health awareness. She currently works for an Interior Design Firm and is working towards obtaining her Real Estate License. She will also continue her advocacy work with her own organization “Crowned Confidant” to help and break the stigma that surrounds Mental Illness as she believes that it is the bases for stopping violence. Excited to bring the warmth of the islands to the international stage she will represent the US Virgin Islands at the 11th edition of Miss Grand International 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam this October 25th. The Caribbean nation of the US Virgin Islands is making a comeback after five years since Morgan Evans participated in the Miss Grand International 2018 in Myanmar

Miss Grand Uzbekistan Amaliya Shakirova

Age: 28 Height: 178cm (5 feet 10 inches) Hometown: Tashkent

She is the first-ever Uzbek queen in Miss Grand International Pageant and she is none other than a 28-year-old international model and talent from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Amaliya had previously competed in Miss Cosmo World 2022 where she finished 1st Runner Up. From the age of 13, she has been working in the modeling business, going to shows and taking part in filming. Her first trip as a model was to Tokyo, Japan, then worked in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, France, Germany, and Italy as a model. Now she is residing in Manila, the Philippines.

Miss Grand Venezuela Valentina Martínez

Age: 23 Height: 174cm (5 feet 8.5 inches) Hometown: Puerto La Cruz

Valentina Martinez is 22 years of age and describes herself as a responsible and determined woman. She has beautiful tanned skin, perfect curves, and an angelic face, Valentina Martínez Landkoer is going to be a strong candidate for the international platform. Valentina has a degree in Social Communications and is a dancer while her hobby is traveling. On winning Miss Grand Venezuela 2023, she took to her social media as she wrote, “And among a sea of ?? emotions, feelings and with trembling hands, I write these lines to be able to say Anzoátegui we did it! My life changed from the moment I decided to be strong and fight for my dreams, to show myself that I can do anything and that I have the power to decide what I want for my life.” “With tears in my eyes and my heart coming out of my chest, I want to say Thank You Venezuela. Thank you for so much love and for believing in me. It will be a year where I will prepare hard to leave the name of my country in style. There is still a long way to go, but I will leave my heart in every step I take, for me, for you, and for my country, Venezuela”, she added.
