Miss Universe is on sale for $20 million US Dollars

According to an article by New York Post, Mr. Ari Emanuel businessman and the CEO of Endeavor, an entertainment and media agency that owns the Miss Universe organization, he is looking for a buyer. Due to the economic crisis which has hit the global market as well as the yearly, low profit made by the International Pageant, according to New York Post - Mr. Emanuel is looking for a new owner for the Miss Universe pageant. However, this has been a huge struggle as the bid for Miss Universe is currently standing at a staggering $20 million US Dollars and many interested people have been turned off by this large amount of cost for this beauty pageant.

In the United States, due to the rising feminist movement and more acceptance being given to body positivity and emphasis on the liberal ideas, views, and individual freedom of the general population. The popularity of pageantry has been declining over the past few years. Although the sale price was not disclosed, financial statements related to Trump’s political campaign said the organization was worth between $5 million and $25 million and had $3.4 million in revenue. A person familiar with Miss Universe’s financial situation told The New York Post the organization — which includes Miss USA and Miss Teen USA events — books $2 million in losses annually while generating revenue between $7 million and $9 million.

The rising annual loss has led the owner, Mr. Ari Emanuel, to look for a potential new owner who is willing to buy the Miss Universe pageant. Mostly from Asia and Latin America which has a huge interest and admiration for pageantry, unlike the United States. Business tycoon Mr. Donald Trump co-owned the Miss Universe Organization from 1996 to 2015, which also included the Miss U.S.A. and Miss Teen U.S.A. pageants. The glamour, excitment and the hype around the pageant have been long lost since IMG company took over and it has affected the production quality and the standard of the beauty pageant. Despite crowning beautiful and intelligent ladies, Miss Universe according to New York Post, has failed to monetize the potential of their creative talents. This has resulted in fewer sponsorship deals with the winners and it has automatically correlated with the lack of activities delegates participate in the Miss Universe pageant. The lack of connection between the organization to understand the fans' needs has developed a lack of genuine interest which can be seen in the low viewing numbers of the final telecast. At the height of the golden era of Miss Universe from the 1980s until the late 2000s, Miss Universe used to gain over 10 million viewers worldwide. However, in recent years the pageant has barely managed to achieve 2 million live viewers. For a better future, the Miss Universe organization is trying to find a suitable buyer who can bring back the glory and prestige of the biggest International Pageant.
