Michelle Cohn was crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2023 and she created history as the first-ever married woman with children to compete at the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 beauty pageant. The 28-year-old beauty queen bested 14 other candidates to be Guatemala's representative for the 72nd Miss Universe competition. Michelle Cohn is the newly crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2023, a mother of two, and is an entrepreneur, a television host, a radio announcer, and a professional model. The finale was held on 6th August 2023 at Gran Sala Efraín Recinos, Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias, Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Michelle is 28 years of age and stands at the height of 179 cm 5 feet 19.5 inches tall. Not new to the pageantry, Michelle had previously represented Guatemala at Miss Grand International 2013 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, where she was unplaced. In 2014, she represented Guatemala at Miss América Latina del Mundo 2013 at Barceló Maya Beach Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where she was adjudged as the third runner-up. Along with Michelle, Hassell Zúñiga from Izabal, Brianna Herrarte from Guatemala en USA, Cielo Pereira from Alta Verapez, Dayana García del Cid from San Raymundo, and Evelyn Tejada from Santa Catarina Pinula were adjudged first, second, third, fourth and fifth runners-up respectively.
Hassell Adriana Zúñiga Reyes of Izabal and Brianna Corina Herrarte Barrios of Guatemala en USA were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Rounding out the Top 6 were the representatives of Alta Verapaz, Cielo Keila Stefany Pereira Caal (third runner-up), San Raymundo, Dayana Clarisa García del Cid (fourth runner-up), and Santa Catarina Pinula, Evelyn Gamaly Tejada Rivas (fifth runner-up). Since the Miss Universe Organization significantly changed its rules allowing mothers and married women to participate, this is the first time in history that Guatemala will be represented by a mother. Since joining Miss Universe for the first time in 1955, Guatemala has yet to win the title. Its highest placements were in the Top 10 in 2019 with Jessica Scheel and in 1984 with Ilma Urrutia, who eventually bagged her country's first Miss International title in Yokohama, Japan.
